Every business leader (owner, executive, manager, etc.) struggles with the declining work ethic and the entitlement mentality of their new emerging employment base. Eric Chester is the only business keynote speaker who focuses on developing a work ethic in the emerging workforce and he’s written the only business book for leaders on improving work ethic since 1904.

Since 1998, Eric has been known by millions as the premier expert on the emerging workforce. As an award-winning keynote speaker and a bestselling author, he was the first to explain the differences the new enigmatic generation brought to the workforce, and he emerged as the “go-to” guy when employers wanted to know how to recruit, train, manage, motivate, and retain them in the workplace. Since most people now recognize the differences this age group has introduced to the workplace, Eric has evolved his program into one that addresses the core problem that is eroding the foundation of America’s way of life: the lack of a sustainable work ethic.

Having addressed more than 2000 audiences from a plethora of industries over the past 25 years, Eric’s programs are fluid, teeming with information and strategies, and impeccably aligned with innovative multimedia technology that visually reinforces tools, concepts, and solutions. He is dialed-in to the mindset of this burgeoning generation, frequently appearing on national media (Good Morning America, MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, ABC News 20/20, etc.) and is interviewed in major publications (Los AngelesTimes, Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Workforce Magazine) to provide insight and perspective to business leaders and concerned adults.

Eric is the President of Reviving Work Ethic, Inc., helping leaders to develop a work ethic in the emerging workforce to promote better performance, increase productivity and decrease turnover in their business. He is the author of the 2012 book Reviving Work Ethic: A Leader’s Guide to Ending Entitlement and Restoring Pride in the Emerging Workforce, the first book of its kind since 1904.

Eric Chester is also the Founder of The Center for Work Ethic Development, a firm offering cutting-edge curriculum and online training resources for leaders, high school and college students, workforce training centers, and all levels of employees. His book BRING YOUR A GAME TO WORK – Seven Values That Will Make Every Employer Want to Hire You and Fight to Keep You is the centerpiece of an innovative training program that teaches work ethic values to teens and young adults.

As a keynote speaker, Eric Chester holds the prestigious CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) credential awarded by the National Speakers Association, its highest earned designation. His client list includes Dairy Queen, Harley-Davidson, Wells Fargo, Allstate, and Alcoa. He is a 2004 inductee into the CPAE(Council of Peers Award of Excellence) International Professional Speakers Hall of Fame, an honor shared by less than 2% of all professional speakers in the world.

Eric and his family reside in Golden, Colorado.

The biggest threat facing today’s business owners and managers is not how they can get new customers and improve sales, but rather how they can find, develop, and keep qualified employees to do the tough, vital work that keeps them in business. These are the kinds of jobs your members rely on to keep the wheels of their business moving. They’re also the kinds of jobs where employee turnover is pandemic. The architectural precast industry needs to find and retain competent workers, but those workers are hard to find—hard to train—and even harder to keep. In this high-stakes hiring environment, employee engagement expert Eric Chester has gone behind the curtain to interview thousands of owners, managers, and leaders of small companies and franchises in order to uncover the best practices for attracting, developing—and yes, even retaining—amazing employees at all levels, often for jobs that aren’t considered sexy by today’s standards. Discover how savvy employers have made bold moves, implemented guerrilla-recruiting tactics, and transformed the way the hiring and retention game is played. Eric’s presentation will delight, surprise, and get your members thinking—and the strategies and methodologies he illustrates will inspire them to change the way they recruit, hire, and lead their employees so they, too, can proudly say they’re FULLY STAFFED ...less

Eric Chester is a former HS business teacher and football coach-turned motivational speaker. He spent 10 years speaking exclusively to students and was an invited presenter at more than 1000 schools in North America. However, for the past 12 years, Eric has been speaking to--and working with--employers who are feeling the effects of an emerging workforce that is woefully prepared with the work ethic necessary to succeed. The purpose of schools is to prepare students for success in the real world. Developing a healthy work ethic prepares young people to be better students while they are in school, but also prepares them to be better employees, better leaders, and better citizens. Developing work ethic in students is not optional; it is a responsibility, one that should be shared by every individual employed by a school district, whether in the classroom, the cafeteria, the administration office, or the school bus. Eric Chester is the leading authority on developing work ethic in teens and young adults. His presentation will illustrate why the work ethic in America has declined, and he'll provide solid, actionable ideas and tools for getting them to perform, and achieve, up to their remarkable potential. ...less
