Sean played a lead role in the creation of Microsoft’s AI strategy, including the first OpenAI partnership. This work created the foundational partnership, culminating in rapid advancements in computing leading to innovations such as ChatGPT.
Sean has been an entrepreneur outside and inside Microsoft for over 25 years, leading teams building some of the most recognizable products to measurable success. His passion is for working closely with established customers, partners, and startups to achieve their goals. Today, he leads a multidisciplinary team helping strategic customers and partners get more out of the Microsoft Cloud for Industry.
Before joining Microsoft, Sean co-founded three internet startups, including a tech incubator at the University pioneering early Web and streaming media technology via grants from Microsoft and Williams Corp.
Sean would become a regular presenter in public and private with the Chairman and multiple CEOs of Microsoft. This early pioneering work would lead Sean to help found Windows Media for which he is the co-recipient of a technical Emmy® Award, and later was a part of the Kinect for Xbox launch team.
